International lending institutions such as IMF and World Bank perform a lot of significant roles in the economic, political, and social development by providing monetary assistance and other support. In addition to this, these organizations also provide necessary support to developing countries, like India, for their overall development. For example, the World Banks’ Partnership Strategy for India is a program that is set up to lay the foundations for achieving “faster, sustainable, and more inclusive growth” as outlined in the government’s 12th five year plan (The World Bank, 2014). This project will help support India in the growth of the country by providing financing, advisory services, and knowledge. The IMF also recognizes the need for India to achieve economic growth. For example, the IMF recommended enhanced financial sector supervision, tax reforms, better monitoring of banks, and increases on short term interest rates in order to help the country’s economy grow (IMF, 2014). It should also be noted that in order to bring economic reform and transformation, the international lending institutions are also helping developing nations in the re-establishment of market economies in the USA.
