MED-ID is a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) roadway to an individual’s personal medical records. It gives medical personnel access to comprehensive information of an individual’s health no matter what the medical history or conditions are. Individual’s personal information changes as their health changes along with updated health insurance, address, etc. The medical information is important to personalized care. The availability of such information is imperative at point of service, especially in emergencies or where coordination of care is at issue. There has been various times in everyone’s life where they had to be treated by more than one doctor because of medical conditions, change in location, change in insurance, or the need for emergency treatment.
