This course offers in-depth coverage of the current risks and threats to an organization’s data, combined with a structured way of addressing the safeguarding of these critical electronic assets. The course provides a foundation for those new to information security as well as those responsible for protecting network services, devices, traffic, and data. Additionally, the course provides the broad-based knowledge necessary to prepare students for further study in other specialized security fields.

How the honors project grade will be figured into the student’s grade for the course and when the project will be due (a specific date is not needed here; “midterm,” “end of the semester,” or something like that is fine).  It is strongly suggested that you make a due date no later than two weeks before the end of the semester, so that you can return the paper to the student before the end of the class.  Students draw from their projects for their capstone presentation, so having the projects with feedback from instructors is extremely important.
