Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
– be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of children and young people’s social, emotional and psychological development within cultural and other appropriate frames of reference such as family and community

– be able to identify the practical needs of children, young people and their carers living in adverse situations, to promote resilience, or to rehabilitate developmental progression
– be able to demonstrate a range of effective techniques for talking with and influencing children, young people and their carers, in respect of addressing their needs and circumstances to promote resilience and/or rehabilitation
– be able to demonstrate a range of effective community development interventions to promote children and young people’s equity and access to services and support in the wider community
