3) Knowing the difficulties of using a categorical approach, discuss how the dimensional approach could be more effective in the diagnosis and especially treatment of personality disorders. Then describe two dimensional approaches that have been proposed to identify and describe personality disorders.
4) Lastly, discuss media representations of the personality disorders discussed in the chapter. Why are some disorders more common in the media than others? Does the media do a fair job characterizing the symptoms, and the sufferers of, personality disorders?
