A lower threshold for tolerance is set in our community in comparison to groups who use substances ceremonially (e.g. peyote, ayahuasca), or places where many drugs are or are technically legal, or less regulated, or available to younger ages (essentially all of Europe fits into at least one of these, particularly the latter). Meanwhile the vast majority of people drink at least socially, and cannabis is gaining acceptance for recreational use.
