I started with analysis of previous project failure, I also referenced to the Theory of projects failure and success. How failure or success could be measured, I provided the theory of “success factors” from Kezner (2009) Project Management, a system approach to planning, scheduling and controlling and etc.
I did the overview of stakeholders analysis and did the “interest stakeholder map” from Maylor. I also outlined the main project failure factors. Then I moved to discuss how to avoid previous mistakes in new project and etc. Every time apart from examples I gave also references to the PM theory.
After that I moved to the project itself.
In general, as I remember, due to the lack of important data for project planning which is provided in brief, the assignment was mostly based on assumptions. I used a lot of imagined data and variables.
Example: I had to make a project of Christmas Land, because the one which was done last year was a total failure.

To start from smthg I made a faked statistics presented below. I mean, there is no such static in real world, but I did “convenient” assumptions and was able to go on, like “ The other important fact that should be mentioned is that considering the geographical disposition of Harrogate, North Yorkshire the habitants doesn’t have a lot of choice for Christmas events.

The closest city center that can offer Christmas entertainment is in 500 km and considering that such kind of events usually organized for kids, it is important to create the possibility of local families to enjoy Christmas as many others cities do.
