As discussed in module 2 and 3, the Project Management Plan is the who, what, where, when and why of a project? . The PMBoK defines the Project Management Plan (PMP) as a document that defines, prepares, integrates and coordinates all subsidiary Project Plans. The Project Management Plan is the overarching document and plan that tells you how the project is going to executed and coordinated. Once you have developed the plan you must run through it with all members of you project team and the stakeholders. You must have approval from your stakeholders and buy in from you Project team of the PMP to proceed to project execution.

This is an Individual assignment in which you will continue with the project which you selected in the Project Charter assignment, and develop a Project Management Plan from it.

Once you have an approved project topic you are then to develop a Project Management Plan for your project. The aim of the Project Plan is to get approval from your stakeholders to proceed with execution the Project.

The paper must contain all of the key Project Management Plan elements outlined in module 2 and module 3 of the course. The 8 deliverables that are to be included in the Project Management Plan are listed below. These are the 8 deliverables that are referred to in the “Completeness of Deliverables” criteria in the marking rubric.

1. Project Title, Project Description and Signature Block of key stakeholders
2. Key User Requirements/User Requirement Matrix
3. Statement of Work
4. Work Breakdown Structure
5. Risk Management Plan
6. Project Schedule including a GANTT Chart, AON, identified Project Lags and Critical Path
7. Human Resource Management Plan
8. Analysis of Project Controls

Technical Writing

This paper is not a discussion paper that you maybe use to writing for academic courses. This paper must be written in a style ready for industry. Technical writing is a skill, your plan must be clear concise and to the point. Length is not important, however content is. Students must provide a complete list of references used for the production of the report. Student should use APA citation style for references.

Appendices (if any)

This section should include items such as, tables, charts, diagrams, financial analysis, questionnaires, references of the interviewees (if any), etc. to support the content of the report. Students should ensure that any appendix (ces) is referenced in the body of the report.

Objectives of the Course Project

This project will help students to apply the content they have learnt in module 2 and 3 to document, study, analyze and develop a Project Management Plan. The Project Management Plan will help students to:

• Gain experience in identifying developing a project plan as detailed above.
• Understand the inputs and output requirements for a Project Plan as defined in the PMBOK and Course Text book.
• Develop an understanding of how to schedule a project and define key user requirements.
• Develop an understanding of Project Controls
