In today’s business industry we can see that the globalization and technology have become very important aspects. Globalization and technology has grown tremendously over the last decade. Technology has become a part of every business and helps businesses with globalization. These two factors keep the business world going and growing. If a business does not keep up with the technology it most likely will go out of business. But since technology has advanced so much, businesses need to do more to succeed. Businesses have been globalized but only a couple; now the technology is giving them a chance to succeed so much that more and more businesses have the chance to go global. McDonalds is one of the businesses that have been affected by technology and globalization. They have expanded from America to one hundred and nineteen other countries. One aspect McDonalds did to help make their business succeed when they expanded to other countries was trying to adapt to their culture and foods. At the same time, McDonalds would still have their own style and type of food but they would accommodate different cultures into their food to attract customers. Examples of this would be, in Israel there are several kosher restaurants and in Japan there are Mediterranean salads and teriyaki burgers. Globalization & McDonald’s has 31,000 restaurants in 119 countries employing more than 1.5 million people, which is about ¼ of Singapore’s population, thus increasing job opportunities world-wide (Geography and Lang Arts Project, 2008).
