So far I would say that I am on the right path however, with Apraxia in a 2 year old it is hard to answer the research questions fully because my niece is viewing the soundboard as more of a toy at this point than a learning tool.

One strategy that has worked thus far is getting her full attention when it is a one on one scenario.
When working with her one on one with no one else around she does focus and repeats words which has been working out great not to mention the fact that her therapy is being done in the comfort of her own home due to the fact that she did not do well in an actual speech therapy facility.
I believe that once she is a little bit older and the IPad is introduced to her with the app that contains learning information regarding her speech she will begin to realize that it is helping her to communicate and she will then begin to go to it for assistance if she need too.
