The excuse that you were ill, could not log into Blackboard or your computer crashed is not an acceptable excuse since this assignment was announced and explained at the beginning of the semester and is due late in the semester. No late assignments will be accepted after 11:59 pm on Saturday, May 28.

(Option 1) An Interview
An interview would typically be a summary of your conversation with a mother, teacher, social worker, or someone else having expertise about children, the elderly or any other age group or topic discussed in the book or class.
 Choose a fairly narrow topic, (i.e. “Class management techniques in a day care center” or “A mother’s recall of her childbirth experience”).

 Use your text/notes to develop at least 10 questions that relate to what you have learned in class and researched about your topic.
 Plan to interview this individual for about 30-60 minutes, and have your questions written out in advance.
 Include your questionnaire with your paper.
 Use only limited direct quotes from your interviewee and share your insights about this individual’s remarks. Do not write questions and responses in the body of your paper.
 Incorporate research into your paper explaining the interview more in depth.
 Answer the following questions in your paper: (provide details/examples for each)
 What did you expect the responses of your interviewee to be based on
your prior knowledge from the class/ textbook/research?
 Did their answers agree with these expectations?
 How are they similar to/different from those we have discussed in class?
Be sure to give this individual a false name and conduct your interview following ethical principles.
(Option 2) An analysis of the developmental value of a toy or hobby
 Read the following article “Toy Stories” posted on http://www.psychologicalscience.org/index.php/publications/observer/2006/december-06/toy-stories.html.
 Pick a toy or hobby that relates to some particular age group (i.e. a mobile for an infant or golf in the elderly).
