How were Americans fighting the Cold War at home?

The Cold War emerged after World War II. It was created from the strained relationship between the USSR and the USA. The Cold War caused major economic affairs because it dominated the international relationships for decades. Major crisis that occurred include the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Berlin Wall, Vietnam and Hungary. The war caused paramount growth in crude weapons that led to mass destruction. A clash emanated from beliefs and ideology of capitalism and communism. These ideologies were based on religious conviction and international power struggle. The two parties tried to dominate each other by exploiting expansion opportunities internationally (Arnold and Roberta 214). Therefore, the governance differences accelerated the war between the Soviet Union USA. This paper intends to analyze the causes of cold war, its impact to the economy, civil rights, internal security act, containment and the strategies used to administer justice.The Cold War caused many changes on the American foreign policy. The view of the Soviet Union deviated to dangerous adversary from wartime ally. The worry spread concerning the communist subversion. The presence of the Soviet bloc and the loss of China fueled suspicion. People believed that Americans who supported the Communist caused an attempt to overthrow the state (Arnold and Roberta 217).

In 1947 under order 9835, the federal royalty program was created by the president Truman. Three million civil servants were investigated and approved while more than two thousand resigned. The remaining percentage of at least three hundred were dismissed. The dismissed group was suspected to be subversion and potential security threats. They were considered disloyal and could betray the state (Isaac and Duncan 307). The people’s perception was based on the fact that security threats/risks incorporated alcoholics, the needy, homosexuals, debtors and the greedy. The approach targeted of suspicious teachers.
