Defining and Explaining the Strategies
Categorical data is often used to bring more meaning to the target audience. For instance, using grouped data such as 3 dogs and 2 cows makes more sense than just putting the numbers without the objects. Categorical data is one which is grouped into one or in multiple categories. An example of categorical data is like the one indicated in figure 1.
The second data is the time series data which provides a sequence of data points that explore how an aspect is likely to change over time. An example of time series data is measuring the consumption of electricity over a specific time period. Figure 2 provides an example of a time series data and it represents how electricity was consumed in different areas such as the farm, factory and the city over a given time period. The third strategy is spatial data that give the number of TB cases in 100,000 people in the US. The time period selected for the data analysis is between 1950 and 2010.
