Individual Coursework (2,500 words) – 100% of the final mark

Primary research must be carried out, with the support of secondary research, on producing a Case Study Report for an organisation of your choice. The organisation should produce goods and/or services, and must involve international business operations.

The Case Study Report needs to:
1. Critically discuss the existing operations in the case organisation using literature review on logistics and supply chain management theories. (20%)
2. Analyse the logistics and supply chain operations of the case organisation, with the support of illustrating the internal and external process map(s) of the case organisation’s operation using Microsoft Visio (30%).

3. Critically evaluate the case organisation’s operation in terms of supply chain strategies using the Five Operations Performance Objectives (30%).

4. Suggestion for improvement in terms of logistics and supply chain management (20%).

Note:
Students need to show their comprehensive understanding of the operations management and logistics in terms of supply chain and process flow. They are expected to carry out primary research and through literature review, build up their knowledge and understanding of the operations management and logistics of the case company. In addition, they must illustrate appropriate process maps for the case operation, and critically evaluate their understanding of the current process and develop suggestions for further development in the case company.
