Memos will be be evaluated largely for their conciseness and on the strength of analytic or conceptual insights and recommendations. Memos must follow a conventional memo format and not contain excessive typographical or grammatical errors. Memos and all other written assignments must be prepared in accordance with academic honesty provisions (see below) and the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). These provisions most especially pertain to all direct quotes, citations and references, though neither a “running head” nor an abstract is required.
Every memo must explicitly state its subject on the subject line. More than three “typos,” grammatical, or syntax errors will result in the loss of some or all credit for the assignment, depending upon the extent or magnitude of the errors. All direct quotes, references and citations, including those from the texts and internet sources, must conform to Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association requirements and the University of Indiana Writing Tutorial Services guide.
The due date and time for this assignment is shown on the class schedule. Memos posted after that due date and time will not receive credit. Memos are only to be directly e-mailed to the professor via the in-class (Webcourses Canvas) e-mail system, they are not to be e-mailed to any other address, nor posted anywhere on the class web site.
