Medea is an ancient Greek play written by Euripides, and this play is based on the myth story of Jason and Medea. It first came into existence in 431 BC, and the main character Medea is a former princess of barbarian from the kingdom of Colchis, and the wife of Jason.

She claims that Medea is trying to satisfy and please the citizens who belongs to the same land where she camas from. So it is clear to see that there is a good political and social relationship between Medea and the citizens. Base on Corti’s statements (12), Medea used her special gifts to save the community from anger, she only used it for build a better community instead of doing evil.
From the first part of the play, Medea talks to Chorus and Creon and want to indicate that male opponents in the political area are lack of adequate political awareness (citation). She argues that the male characters acts on their interests and seldom of them act for the interests of the community, that they do not know the problems that are faced by the members of the communities.
According to Medea, it is only her and Chorus that show positive motivations of helping the community and does not act on the basic of personal interests (citation). So relationship between Medea and women citizens in Corinth is better than the relationship of Jason with other people of the community, and the character traits possessed by all women in the play is better than Jason’s (Citation).
