Aspects of a quality management plan in a healthcare organization
A quality healthcare management plan has to encompass various aspects and incorporate
these aspects into its implementation for maximum effectiveness. These aspects arise from
extensive background research on what constitutes a favorable plan and the overall outlook of it
on the organization. In essence, it entails quality assessment, quality improvement, and Providerspecific quality activities. According to (Benson, 2009), a healthcare plan should be safe,
effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.
The first aspect which is quality assessment, entails the use of indicators for: selection,
measurement, assessment, reporting and tracking to ensure that actual identification and
adherence to recommendations in accordance with the needs of the organization. Quality
improvement, therefore, will assess the: patient safety, elimination of possible errors in treatment
like Never Events and legislating on existing and favorable policies to improve consumer
confidence.
Tools to Enhance Healthcare Setting
The Lean tool that has been employed is the HonshiKanri or simply known as Policy
Deployment. It entails the aligning of the strategic goals of the organization with a tactical punch
to it to ensure adequate action is taken for result realization. It ensures that there is adequate
leadership within the organization to direct it. That is, through enhancing communication across
all levels and better coordination between subordinate and leadership relations

attaining its set goals and objectives.
Workflow Processes in a Healthcare Setting
Workflow processes entail how a professional can be able to access medical information
of a patient and can share with colleagues for synergy on ideas. According to Murray (2003),
these processes entail patient chart analysis, deficiency management and processing, patient
admission, utilization review, patient discharge, record completion and patient billing. They are
part of Health Information Management systems that keep records in a synchronized manner that
will be easily accessible to a healthcare professional during retrieval through employing the
Electronic Patient Record systems. This system employs the use of an easily understandable
usable interface through a thin client system to retrieve saved data that is accessible through a
centralized server.
Quality Parameters in a Healthcare Setting
Quality parameters are those that show the outcomes as a result of quality healthcare
