In an article by Gelfman, Du & Morrison (2013) qualitative study was performed to determine the impact of hospital palliative care procedures on the relatives of patients with deadly illnesses.

Palliative care has customarily been considered an administration for those in hospice care; however hospitals are currently providing this administration to patients who are encountering serious diseases. The program tends to reduce the severity of the disease than to cure it. Palliative care is useful in providing comfort or improves the patients’ life. Since palliative care services are new to caring centre, little research has been conducted to determine whether the patient families feel as if the service were useful. Gelfman et al. (2013) conducted an exploration to figure out whether palliative care benefits in hospitals enhanced the quality of care over relatives who had died in a substantial scholarly clinic in New York.  past research with  respect to palliative care  services have reported  relatives engaged in the  care process had more  improved patient and family satisfactions, favorable dying experiences and reduced cost and length  of stay. The current research inspected the numerous facets involved in healthcare and more particularly when palliative care is under consideration.  The study planned to  take  a  gander at how spiritual needs were taken care of, how relatives physiological and emotional needs addressed and the relatives self efficacy while taking care of their loved ones.
